Join us Saturday, October 22nd, for our biennial member event. It's a day to learn, socialize with fellow members, and support the work of the association. In addition to four engaging presentations, we'll enjoy a Nordic-themed lunch, hear news from NAHA leadership, and elect new board members.
The theme of this year's event is Norwegian Americans in the Twin Cities. Although we typically associate Norwegian Americans with rural homesteading and farming, there is a long and rich history of Norwegian settlers settling in major urban centers like the Twin Cities. Our moderator for the event will be Michael Lansing, Professor of History at Augsburg University. To top things off, we will celebrate the release of The Heart of the Heartland: Norwegian American Community in the Twin Cities, by David C. Mauk, copublished by NAHA and MNHS Press.
